Frequently Asked Questions

Should I bring my own cup?

Yes! In an effort to get as close to zero-waste as possible, we will not be providing cups onsite beverages. Don’t forget to bring your own cup so you can enjoy all the tasty drinks! We’ll also have awesome new MBOSC mugs and metal pint glasses available for purchase. Bottled water will not be available, but we’ll have a water station where you can fill your own reusable bottles.

Can I bring my own food?

Sure! You are welcome to bring outside food. We will have delicious, affordable food for sale at the event that meets a wide variety of tastes.

What is my racing age?

Your racing age is the age you’ll be on December 31 of the race year. So, if you’re 29 right now, but your birthday is in October, your racing age is 30, and you should register for that age group.

Where is the race located?

The race will be held at Wilder Ranch State Park. The address is 1401 Coast Road, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. Click here for more information on how to get to the venue.

Can I bring my friends/family?

YES! This event is fun for the whole family. In addition to the race there will be an expo area with food, drinks, kids bike skills area, and more. Bring your family and invite your friends to watch the race and enjoy the festivities. They can also volunteer!

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed at Wilder Ranch State Park, so please leave your pups behind for the day. Dogs are not permitted at the event venue or the camping sites.

Is there a place I can check my bag or coat onsite?

Yes! Our bike valet will happily check bags or coats for attendees as needed.

What time does my race start?

The first race (pro category) will start at 9:00 a.m., and all other categories will start in waves shortly after that. Detailed start times will be available here.

Is there camping nearby?

If you are interested in camping, there are a limited number of tent and RV/Trailer camping spots available at Wilder Ranch State Park. You can reserve a space through the BikeReg event registration. Please click here to review.

Can I cancel/transfer my registration?

Please note that NO refunds are offered for Old Cabin Classic. You can transfer your registration to another racer with a $20 transfer fee. All transfers must be processed by 5/11 at 12pm. For transfer requests, please email race@oldcabinclassic.com.
